Silk Georgette Coffee

Geologically, Silk Georgette Coffee is a dense light limestone from Chinese deposits. Limestones arise from marine carbonate deposits consolidated over millions of years — the fine vein lines are secondary mineral inclusions that shape the calm flowing image. The warm coffee-brown colouring derives from iron-rich mineral fractions. The fine-grained, closed structure permits a very high-quality polish, which is why the material is listed in many ranges as a “beige marble”, although it behaves like a classical polished limestone.

Technically, Silk Georgette Coffee behaves typically for a high-quality polished limestone: a dense surface, good workability, acid-sensitive. Wine, lemon, vinegar or sanitary cleaners leave etch marks on the polished surface.

At ROSSITTIS we carry Silk Georgette Coffee as a raw slab for bookmatched wall claddings and vanity tops, in tiles for floor and wall surfaces, as tread and riser, window sill, skirting and project-specific cut-to-size work. The choice of finish is governed by the application: polished emphasises the warm depth and the flowing play of veins most strongly — the first choice for bookmatching and prestige bathrooms. Compared with the lighter Silk Georgette Light, the Coffee variant brings markedly more warmth and depth into rooms. Set against dramatic brown stones such as Marron Damascato, the slab image remains calmer and more elegant — a deliberate choice for rooms in which warmth is to be combined with restraint.
