Marble from Italy

Statuarietto

Statuarietto is a white Italian marble with fine to medium grey veining and a clear Carrara character. At ROSSITTIS it is used for bathrooms, vanity tops, kitchen islands and high-quality wall surfaces wherever a light marble with more figure than Bianco Carrara is called for.

About Statuarietto

In design terms, Statuarietto moves between calm Carrara and more strongly figured Statuario. The ground is white to slightly ivory, joined by fine to medium-strength grey veins that give the stone movement without making it too restless. That is precisely what makes it so attractive for bathrooms, vanity tops, kitchen islands and vertical surfaces. It appears clear, Italian and of high quality, but not over-staged.

The stone comes from the Carrara area in Tuscany and belongs to the large family of white Apuan marbles. For planners it matters that Statuarietto is less pure white and less dramatic than some Statuario types, while at the same time offering more figure and tension than very calm Carrara selections. Anyone looking for an elegant middle way is very well served here.

Finishes

Statuarietto is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.

Care & fabrication

Statuarietto should be sealed carefully after installation. Water absorption is low, but as a marble the material remains sensitive to acids and staining agents.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners are suitable. Acidic cleaners, descalers and aggressive kitchen or bathroom chemicals are unsuitable.

Coffee, wine, citrus, oil and cosmetics should be removed promptly from horizontal surfaces. On light polished marble surfaces in particular, matt patches and shadowy stains quickly become visible.

For external areas, restraint is sensible. The greatest strength of Statuarietto lies clearly in high-quality interior fit-out.

Frequently asked questions

Is Statuarietto suitable for the kitchen?

Only with an awareness of care. Statuarietto is dense enough for high-quality kitchens, but it remains an acid-sensitive marble and is therefore considerably more demanding than quartzite or ceramic.

Where does Statuarietto come from?

Statuarietto comes from the Carrara area in Italian Tuscany and belongs to the family of white Apuan marbles.

Which finish suits Statuarietto?

The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

How do I care for Statuarietto?

The stone should be sealed and cared for only with pH-neutral natural stone cleaners. Acidic cleaners are unsuitable.

Statuarietto or Bianco Carrara?

Bianco Carrara usually appears calmer and greyer, Statuarietto somewhat clearer and more strongly figured. The decision depends on how much movement is wanted.

What does Statuarietto cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
