About Azul Cristal

Azul Cristal lives from its sober clarity. The colouring lies between blue-grey, mid grey and darker mineral grains. The image reads as precise, clean and structural rather than decorative. That is precisely why the stone is very well suited to façades, stairs, floors and worktops where natural stone is meant to read as robust and architectural without pushing itself forward in design terms.

The stone comes from the Guimarães area in northern Portugal and is carried in the market as a granite. Compared with very uniform grey granites, Azul Cristal reads as cooler and slightly bluer. Against darker blue stones such as Azul Noche or Azulalia it remains paler and more restrained. That makes it a very versatile hard stone for internal and external projects.

Azul Cristal is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

Politur ist die klassischste Veredelung im Hartgesteinsegment — eine spiegelglatte, hochglänzende Oberfläche mit höchstmöglicher Farbintensität und maximaler Tiefenwirkung der Mineralstruktur. Als säurebeständiges Silikatgestein ist polierter Granit pflegeleicht und für Küchenarbeitsplatten, Wandverkleidungen und repräsentative Sichtflächen erste Wahl.

Care & fabrication

Azul Cristal is easy to maintain, but should nonetheless be sealed as a worktop or in the bathroom. That makes cleaning and care easier and reduces grease films and limescale rings.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, clear water and a microfibre cloth are sufficient. Aggressive household chemicals are usually unnecessary on this granite.

Outdoors, the appropriate finishing, a correct sub-base and clean drainage matter more than specialist care. Textured surfaces are usually the best solution there.
