About Branco Real

Pedras Salgadas belongs to the restrained pale granites that work less through contrast than through calm. The ground colour lies between white, light grey and a slight cream tone. Added to this are fine darker biotite points that keep the surface lively without becoming restless. For façades, stairwells, window sills or bright kitchens that is precisely what is attractive: a stone that appears friendly and high-quality without becoming loud.

Finishes

Branco Real is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

Pedras Salgadas should be sealed on kitchen and wet surfaces, even though at about 0.21 % water absorption the stone is already quite dense. This makes cleaning and maintenance easier and reduces the penetration of oil, coffee or coloured liquids.

For cleaning and maintenance, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft microfibre cloth are sufficient. On pale granites, routine cleaning is usually straightforward, but regular follow-up cleaning is nevertheless worthwhile.

Avoid abrasive pads and aggressive cleaners not approved for natural stone. Outdoors, a suitable choice of finish, good drainage and proper installation matter more than strong chemistry.

Where Pedras Salgadas is used outdoors, it remains very dependable and friendly in effect over the long term with normal care and clean construction.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. With around 2,618 kg/m³ bulk density, about 0.21 % water absorption, 103.5 MPa compressive strength and 17.0 MPa flexural strength, Pedras Salgadas is well suited to kitchen worktops.

Which finishes are available for Pedras Salgadas?

The surface finishes currently held in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Pedras Salgadas come from?

Pedras Salgadas comes from Portugal, from the Trás-os-Montes region. On the market the stone is also known under the name Pedras Salgadas.
