About Bruno Perla

Bruno Perla is a stone for interiors that are meant to show character. The ground colour lies between dark grey and black, across which run lighter and darker golden veins that make every slab individual. It is precisely this interplay of dark depth and a warm golden tone that gives the material a luxurious, decorative effect — unlike classic black stones with white veining, here the golden metallic tone is to the fore. In bathrooms, fireplace walls, counters and striking feature surfaces this creates a pictorial effect that shapes rooms immediately.

Care & fabrication

Bruno Perla is an acid-sensitive limestone. Wine, lemon juice, vinegar, cola, bathroom cleaners or descalers leave etch marks on the polished surface — visible as dull shadows or loss of gloss. On the dark surface, changes are visually particularly conspicuous.

For all applications, a silane- or polysiloxane-based sealer is mandatory. It prevents the penetration of water, oil and dyes and makes cleaning easier — but it does not remove the acid sensitivity. On polished surfaces we recommend refreshing the sealer every 1-2 years.

Daily care is carried out with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid acidic cleaners, descalers, vinegar and citric acid — they attack the stone and can visibly alter gloss and figuring.

In the kitchen and bathroom, wine, coffee, cosmetics, oil and citrus should not be left standing on the surface for long. Bruno Perla is a decorative interior marble and wants to be treated as one.

For permanently weathered external surfaces the material is not suitable. Indoors it is stable over the long term with proper care.

Frequently asked questions

Is Bruno Perla suitable for a kitchen?

With qualifications. As an acid-sensitive limestone it works only with accepted patina, consistent sealing and immediate removal of acids. For heavily used everyday kitchens, granite or quartzite is usually less stressful.

Which finishes are available for Bruno Perla?

The surface finishes currently held in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Bruno Perla come from?

Bruno Perla comes from Turkish deposits. Characteristic is the dark grey to black ground tone with golden veining — a luxurious, decorative effect.

How do I clean and care for Bruno Perla?

Sealing is mandatory. Daily care with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner and a microfibre cloth. Avoid acidic bathroom and kitchen cleaners, descalers and vinegar.

Is Bruno Perla suitable for outdoor use?

No, its strength lies clearly indoors. As a limestone it reacts sensitively to de-icing salt and acidic precipitation and is not suitable for permanently weathered surfaces.

Bruno Perla or Marron Emperador — which suits better?

Both are polishable limestones with a similar maintenance requirement. Marron Emperador appears more homogeneously brown and more classic with a net-like veining, Bruno Perla markedly darker, higher in contrast and, through the golden veins, more expressive. For luxurious, dramatic rooms, Bruno Perla is the better choice.
