About Butterfly Blue

Butterfly Blue is a blue-grey natural stone that works not through glittering effects but through texture. The surface shows blue, grey and darker passages in a directional, slightly layered structure. This makes the stone appear lively but not uncontrolled. On façades, stairs and large floor areas in particular it produces a cool, architectural effect that suits pared-back designs well.

The stone comes from China, from Inner Mongolia, and petrographically it is a gneiss. In the trade it is nevertheless carried as a granite, like many metamorphic hard rocks, because it is precisely in this segment that it is sought out and specified. Compared with Blue Pearl, Butterfly Blue is markedly less iridescent and metallic. Compared with Blue Black it appears more linear and, through its directional structure, somewhat more geological. Anyone looking for a blue hard stone with a quiet, matter-of-fact effect will find a good solution here.

Butterfly Blue is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

Politur ist die klassischste Veredelung im Hartgesteinsegment — eine spiegelglatte, hochglänzende Oberfläche mit höchstmöglicher Farbintensität und maximaler Tiefenwirkung der Mineralstruktur. Als säurebeständiges Silikatgestein ist polierter Granit pflegeleicht und für Küchenarbeitsplatten, Wandverkleidungen und repräsentative Sichtflächen erste Wahl.

Care & fabrication

Butterfly Blue should be sealed on kitchen and wet surfaces. This makes cleaning and maintenance easier and reduces the penetration of water, oil and coloured liquids.

For cleaning and maintenance, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a soft cloth are sufficient. On darker, polished surfaces in particular, films of water and limescale marks should not be allowed to dry on.

Avoid abrasive pads and aggressive specialist cleaners not approved for natural stone. Because of the somewhat higher water absorption, clean installation and careful routine cleaning are particularly sensible.

Outdoors, suitable finishes, good drainage and constructional care are decisive. Butterfly Blue then performs dependably and coherently.
