Eramosa C C gewolkt

Eramosa C C clouded is a Canadian brown dolomitic stone with a cloudy, almost timber-like figure. At ROSSITTIS we carry it as a marble for interior fit-out wherever a warm linear stone effect with less classic marble veining is wanted.

About Eramosa C C gewolkt

Eramosa C C clouded is one of those materials that make their impact through structure straight away. The base colour lies between mid-brown and dark brown, joined by cloudy lightenings and a fine, almost timber-like banding. This gives the stone a character of its own: less classically veined than marble, but distinctly more decorative than a homogeneous brown. In wall surfaces, stairs, floors and selected washstands in particular this is interesting where warmth and movement are wanted without tipping over into the rustic.

Finishes

Eramosa C C gewolkt is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Poliert

As a dolomitic natural stone, Eramosa C C clouded should be protected with a suitable natural stone sealer, particularly on floors, washstands and worktops. This reduces stain pick-up, but does not make the stone acid-proof.

pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mops are suitable for cleaning and care. Coffee, wine, lemon juice, vinegar and aggressive bathroom cleaners should not be left standing on the surface for long.

Avoid acidic cleaners, descalers and abrasive sponges. On polished darker dolomitic stones in particular, dull patches can otherwise become visible quickly.

For surfaces that stay beautiful, the rule is: clean and care for them regularly, check the sealer, and do not subject heavily used floors to unnecessarily harsh chemicals.

Frequently asked questions

Is Eramosa C C clouded suitable for the kitchen?

Only with reservations. The material is calcareous and therefore acid-sensitive. For calm kitchens with careful maintenance it is possible; for heavily used everyday kitchens there are less problematic alternatives.

Which surfaces are available for Eramosa C C clouded?

The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Eramosa C C clouded come from?

The stone comes from Wiarton in Ontario in Canada.

How do I clean Eramosa C C clouded?

pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths should be used for cleaning and care. Acidic cleaners and descalers are to be avoided.

Is Eramosa C C clouded frost-resistant?

For interior applications the stone is clearly suitable. For permanently exposed external surfaces it is considerably less appropriate, above all where polished surfaces are planned.

Eramosa or brown marble?

Eramosa appears more linear, more structured and more distinctive. Brown marble usually shows more classic veining and a more markedly marble-like sense of depth.
