About Hemarus Grey

Hemarus Grey combines brightness with clear structure. The ground is white to off-white, and over it run grey veins, partly horizontal, partly diagonal, partly cloudier and more animated. This allows the stone to look very different from piece to piece: from calm and linear through to markedly cloudy. It is precisely this range that makes it interesting for architects who want to stay within the white marble spectrum but do not want to end up with a flat standard appearance. Compared with Carrara, Hemarus Grey often appears more clearly contrasted; compared with more dramatic Calacatta types, more matter-of-fact and more austere.

Satiniert

Die Oberfläche wird gebürstet — weichere Minerale werden gezielt entfernt, es entsteht eine subtile Tiefe und mattes Erscheinungsbild. Besonders geaderte Kalksteine erhalten so eine charaktervolle Optik und Haptik. Die mattere Veredelung kaschiert kleine Ätzungen besser als poliert und ist alltagstauglicher für stark beanspruchte Innenflächen.

Care & fabrication

Hemarus Grey should be sealed carefully on floors, vanity tops and wall surfaces, so that moisture and coloured media penetrate the surface less easily. With light marbles in particular, consistent prevention pays off.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, clear water and soft cloths are suitable. On light surfaces, limescale, cosmetics, soap, coffee or wine should not be allowed to dry on, so that no stains or dull patches arise.

Avoid vinegar cleaners, descalers, chlorine-based bathroom cleaners and abrasive pads. A light marble can be cleaned and cared for well in the long term if the surface is treated gently and re-sealed at regular intervals.

In wet areas, clean and care for it regularly, squeegee off water residues where possible and do not leave cleaning agent residues standing. That way the light surface stays more even and calmer.

For carefully used kitchens, Hemarus Grey can be used, but it remains an acid-sensitive marble. For heavily used working zones, quartzite or granite are usually easier to maintain.
