About Padang TG34 Cristallo

Padang TG34 Cristallo is not a feature stone but a decidedly sober, dependable granite. Its appearance is light grey to silvery, fine to medium-grained and remarkably even across larger surfaces. It is precisely this calm that makes the material so interesting for contract buildings, stairwells, facades, terraces and functional interiors. Anyone looking for a pale granite for large continuous surfaces usually does not want spectacular veining, but a clean, load-bearing and predictable surface. That is exactly where Padang TG34 Cristallo plays to its strength.

Finishes

Padang TG34 Cristallo is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.

Satin-honed

The satin surface is created by brushing, which selectively removes softer minerals and gives the surface a slight depth. A matte appearance with subtle light reflection and a warm feel to the touch. Easy to maintain, insensitive to scratches and suited to everyday use — a popular alternative to a polish in modern kitchens and living spaces.

Honed C120

A matt appearance created by coarse honing with C120 grit — the level surface shows a more restrained colour intensity than polished and can carry visible honing marks. Compared with a polish it is more maintenance-intensive but stylistically calmer; the preferred choice for modern interior architecture with reduced reflection.

River finish

The surface is roughened by water pressure and then given a colour-enhancing treatment — the shade comes through more strongly than on the flamed-and-brushed variant. Recommended for outdoor areas, terraces and façade claddings that call for a level, slip-resistant surface with a powerful depth of colour.

Flamed + brushed once

The surface is roughened by heat and brushed once to smooth sharp-edged mineral residues and remove loose material. The feel is somewhat gentler than purely flamed, it remains slip-resistant, and the colour is less intense than polished. The standard choice for outdoor areas, terraces and heavily used floor areas.

Care & fabrication

Padang TG34 Cristallo is easy to look after, but should nevertheless be sealed after installation. On light grey surfaces in particular, a sealer helps to keep stains from oil, dirt and moisture more easily under control.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners and clear water are sufficient. The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down this page.

Avoid aggressive deep cleaners unless they are approved for granite. Coffee, oil and strongly coloured liquids should not be left to act for long on worktops, even though the stone is robust at 0.37 % water absorption.

Outdoors, good drainage, regular cleaning and sparing use of de-icing salt are important. Frost is less critical for this granite than standing dirt on rough surfaces.

Frequently asked questions

Is Padang TG34 Cristallo suitable for a kitchen?

Yes. Padang TG34 Cristallo reaches 2,620 kg/m³ bulk density, 169.2 MPa compressive strength, 15.5 MPa flexural strength and 0.37 % water absorption. That makes it technically well suited to kitchen worktops and other loaded internal surfaces.

What finishes are available in Padang TG34 Cristallo?

The finishes currently available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.

Where does Padang TG34 Cristallo come from?

The stone comes from Fujian in China. It is one of the well-known light grey Chinese contract granites with a calm, even appearance.

How do I clean Padang TG34 Cristallo?

A pH-neutral natural stone cleaner is sufficient for cleaning and care. On pale granite surfaces it pays to remove oil, coffee and building-site dirt quickly so that no stubborn residues are left behind.

Is Padang TG34 Cristallo frost-resistant?

Yes. The stone is regarded as frost-resistant and still reaches 152.6 MPa compressive strength after frost. That makes it very usable for many external applications.

Padang TG34 or Bianco Sardo — which is better?

Padang TG34 reads as somewhat more technical and more contract-oriented, Bianco Sardo as somewhat more classically Italian. Technically both are solid; the decision is usually made on provenance, grain and project budget.

What does Padang TG34 Cristallo cost?

The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
