About Romanix
Romanix is a classic white granite sorting from the Brazilian hard stone extraction regions — listed on the market under numerous trade names: Romanix, Bianco Romanix, Blanco Romanix Granite, White Ice Granite and Ice White Granite. Characteristic is a cream-white to light grey base matrix of white plagioclase and transparent quartz, run through by pronounced dark grey to black veins of movement composed of biotite and hornblende. Occasional warm pink to red-brown garnet and iron-oxide accents bring additional depth of colour. The slab image is medium-grained and shows a distinct signature of movement — not a calm homogeneous surface, but a lively granite with a characterful material signature. Brazil is one of the world's most important producers of light granites with a signature of movement and has supplied the European and North American markets for decades with a broad palette of similar sortings such as Bianco Antico, Bianco Romano, White Galaxy and River White. Mineralogically, white plagioclase and transparent quartz dominate as the main constituents; the dark veins of movement arise from biotite and hornblende, the red-brown accents from garnet and iron-oxide impregnations.

Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.
Care & fabrication
As a Brazilian granite, Romanix can be cared for over the long term and cleaned without difficulty. With a water absorption of only 0.256 per cent, the material belongs among the dense hard rocks — stains accordingly form rarely. For kitchen worktops, external paving and heavily frequented floor surfaces we nevertheless recommend an impregnation on a silane or polysiloxane basis as additional protection against red wine, coffee, oil and tomato sauce — with the light base matrix of Romanix the impregnation is particularly sensible, since stains would stand out visually more strongly on a white ground. Routine cleaning is carried out with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth or mop. Avoid strongly alkaline deep cleaners, acidic agents such as vinegar or lemon cleaners and abrasive scouring pads. Outdoors, Romanix is frost-resistant and tolerant of road salt — rinse off road salt residues in spring. We recommend refreshing the impregnation every three to five years.
