Silver Shadow works through a calm silver-grey base tone, through which fine, almost shadow-like bright white veins run. The slab appearance is even and elegant — not an expressive play of veins, but a restrained, urban look that gives rooms brightness and depth without pushing itself into the foreground. It is precisely this quietness that makes the stone interesting for modern bathrooms, wall claddings, floor surfaces, reception areas and restrained interior architecture.
Geologically, Silver Shadow is a dense, polishable limestone from Turkish deposits. Limestones form from marine carbonate deposits that have been consolidated over millions of years — the fine whitish veins are secondary mineral inclusions. The fine-grained, closed structure permits a very high-quality polish, which is why the material is listed in many ranges as “grey marble”, although it behaves like a classic polished limestone: dense, polishable, acid-sensitive.
Technically, Silver Shadow behaves as is typical of a high-quality polished limestone: a dense surface, good workability, acid-sensitive. Wine, lemon, vinegar or sanitary cleaners leave etch marks on the material surface. With a typical bulk density of around 2,700 kg/m³, the material is well suited to wall, floor and interior fit-out applications.

The application decides the choice of finish: polished emphasises the silver-grey depth and the fine veining most strongly — the first choice for prestige wall surfaces. An antiqued finish acquires a Mediterranean patina.
Compared with classic grey marbles such as Bardiglio or Pietra Serena, Silver Shadow appears lighter and more finely drawn. Against dramatic grey bookmatch materials such as Silver River Root, the slab appearance remains markedly calmer — a deliberate choice for rooms in which the material is to be the background and not the lead player.

Silver Shadow is an acid-sensitive limestone. Wine, lemon juice, vinegar, cola, sanitary cleaners or descalers leave etch marks on the material surface — visible as matt shadows or a loss of gloss.
For all applications, a silane or polysiloxane-based sealer is obligatory. It prevents the penetration of water, oil and dyes and reduces staining — but it does not remove the acid sensitivity. We recommend refreshing the sealer every 1-2 years.
Daily care is carried out with a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner and a soft microfibre cloth. Avoid vinegar cleaners, cement haze removers, acidic sanitary cleaners and strongly alkaline products. Wine, coffee, oil, lemon juice or cosmetic products should not be left to act on the material surface for long.
For kitchen worktops, Silver Shadow is only conditionally suitable — acids from everyday cooking can leave a visible patina. Anyone who loves the calm grey material appearance but needs a carefree kitchen should choose a grey quartzite such as Luna Grey.
For permanently weathered external surfaces the material is not suitable.
