Toros Siyah is a Brazilian natural stone of the granite family with a deep black, closed ground tone. Acid-resistant, frost-proof and with the full load-bearing capacity of a hard rock — suitable for kitchens, exterior applications and prestige interior surfaces.

About Black Taurus Fusion
Toros Siyah lives on a dense, even deep black that plays towards anthracite or blackish brown depending on how the light falls. The slab picture is calm and closed — no expressive play of veining, but a homogeneous, clear surface that works in modern architecture either as a background or as a statement in its own right. It is precisely this legibility that makes the stone interesting for kitchen worktops, dark bathrooms, wall claddings, floor areas and prestige interiors in which a consistently dark material picture is called for.
Geologically, Toros Siyah comes from Brazilian hard rock deposits and is assigned to the granite family in the natural stone trade. With a Mohs hardness of around 6 the material lies in the classic hard rock range — acid-resistant, with very low water absorption and reliable frost resistance. The closed, dense mineral structure is responsible for the calm, almost velvety black.
Technically, Toros Siyah benefits from these hard rock characteristics: wine, lemon, vinegar, coffee or limescale removers leave no etch marks on the polished surface. Compressive and flexural strength lie in the typical hard rock range — resilient enough for heavily frequented floor areas, stairs and exterior applications. The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down.
At ROSSITTIS we carry Toros Siyah as a raw slab for kitchen worktops and vanity tops, in tiles for large-format floor and wall surfaces, as tread and riser, window sill, skirting and project-specific cut-to-size. In choosing the finish, the application decides: polished emphasises the depth and the rich black most strongly — the first choice for prestige interiors and bookmatched wall surfaces. The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down.
Compared with classic black granites such as Nero Assoluto or Star Galaxy, Toros Siyah looks calmer and has no metallically glittering mineral inclusions. Compared with black marbles such as Nero Marquina the material is massively more robust: acid-resistant and, at around Mohs 6, markedly harder — the reliable choice for a consistently black material picture in the kitchen and outdoors.

Black Taurus Fusion is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.
Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.
Satin-honed
The satin surface is created by brushing, which selectively removes softer minerals and gives the surface a slight depth. A matte appearance with subtle light reflection and a warm feel to the touch. Easy to maintain, insensitive to scratches and suited to everyday use — a popular alternative to a polish in modern kitchens and living spaces.
Care & fabrication
As a hard rock, Toros Siyah is completely acid-resistant — wine, lemon, vinegar, coffee or limescale removers leave no etch marks. That is the decisive difference from black marbles and makes the material easy to care for in the kitchen, bathroom and outdoors.
For kitchen worktops and vanity units we recommend a one-off impregnation on a silane or polysiloxane basis. It prevents the penetration of oily and greasy soiling, which can otherwise become visible on dark surfaces as pale shadows.
Daily care is done with clear warm water and a soft microfibre cloth. For heavier soiling, use a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner. Hot pots and pans can be set down directly — hard rocks are heat-resistant.
Fingerprints and water marks are always more visible on polished black than on pale or textured stones. The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down.
Outdoors, Toros Siyah is frost-proof and stable over the long term with no further protective measures. Rinse off de-icing salt with clear water in spring.
Frequently asked questions
Is Toros Siyah suitable for the kitchen?
Yes, very much so. As a hard rock, Toros Siyah is acid-resistant and, at around Mohs 6, hard enough for kitchen worktops. Wine, lemon, vinegar or coffee leave no etch marks. A one-off impregnation gives additional protection against oily and greasy soiling. For open-plan kitchens we recommend a matt surface finish — fingerprints are barely visible there.
Which finishes are there for Toros Siyah?
The surface finishes available from stock are listed in the »Finishes« block on this page.
Where does Toros Siyah come from?
Toros Siyah comes from Brazilian hard rock deposits. Characteristic is the dense, even deep black ground tone with no visible vein pattern.
How do I clean and care for Toros Siyah?
Daily cleaning with clear water and a microfibre cloth is enough. For heavier soiling use a pH-neutral natural stone cleaner. A one-off impregnation on a silane basis protects against oily stains, which stand out more visually on dark stone.
Is Toros Siyah frost-resistant and suitable for outdoors?
Yes, completely. Hard rocks have very low water absorption and are frost-proof with no further protective measures. For exterior surfaces with a requirement for secure footing, a matt, textured surface finish makes more sense than polished.
Toros Siyah or Nero Assoluto — which suits better?
Both are resilient black hard rocks. Toros Siyah looks somewhat more velvety and matt through its calm, closed mineral structure; Nero Assoluto granites often show the finest glittering particles and can look somewhat livelier depending on the batch. Anyone looking for a consistently calm black is better served by Toros Siyah.
What does Black Taurus Fusion cost?
The price depends on the batch, thickness, surface finish and fabrication — with natural stone there is no serious flat rate per square metre. Business customers see prices once their B2B account is activated; private customers receive a complete quote through a fabricator near them.
