Bathroom & wellness

Natural stone turns any bathroom into a place of calm. Whether vanity top, shower floor or wall cladding – stone brings warmth, texture and timeless elegance. What is decisive is water absorption, slip resistance and the right surface treatment.

Suitable materials

Marble Incomparable elegance and warmth – the epitome of luxurious bathroom design
Granite Robust, water-resistant, easy to care for – ideal for heavily used bathrooms
Quartzite Hard, acid-resistant, colour-intense – for prestige bathrooms with character
Slate Natural slip resistance thanks to its riven surface – perfect for showers
Ceramics Almost non-absorbent, UV- and stain-resistant – for large formats and level-access showers
Engineered quartz An even look, easy to care for, stain-resistant – ideal for vanity tops and bath surrounds

Technical requirements

Water absorption (< 0.5 %) Slip resistance R9–R11 Sealing required Mould resistance

Guide values – the individual slab may differ in detail. For demanding permanently wet areas (public baths, spa) a project-specific assessment is worthwhile.

Recommended only with reservations

Travertine – its open-pored structure holds moisture and can discolour in permanently wet areas. Possible in dry bathroom zones (walls, vanity top) with consistent sealing – not in the shower floor.
