About Blue Black

Blue Black is a dark granite for projects that want to read black not as absolute black but as slightly bluish and mineral. The surface moves between blue, black, grey and, in places, brown or metallic nuances. Despite this colouring, the structure remains largely non-directional. That makes the stone lively without becoming restless. For façades, stairs, floor areas and dark kitchens this works very well.

In the trade, Blue Black is listed as a granite; the origin of this stock item is Brazil. That is exactly the segment where the material belongs: as a dark, hard-wearing hard stone for indoors and outdoors. Compared with purely black gabbros, Blue Black appears somewhat more colourful and softer. Against strongly reflective labradorite or anorthosite stones it remains more restrained. Anyone looking for a dark slab with a cool blue component, but without a spectacular iridescent effect, will find a good middle ground here.

Poliert

Politur ist die klassischste Veredelung im Hartgesteinsegment — eine spiegelglatte, hochglänzende Oberfläche mit höchstmöglicher Farbintensität und maximaler Tiefenwirkung der Mineralstruktur. Als säurebeständiges Silikatgestein ist polierter Granit pflegeleicht und für Küchenarbeitsplatten, Wandverkleidungen und repräsentative Sichtflächen erste Wahl.

Care & fabrication

Blue Black should be sealed on kitchen and wet surfaces. That makes cleaning and care easier and keeps the dark surface visually more even.

For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and a microfibre cloth are enough. On polished dark slabs, limescale rims and water residues should not be allowed to dry on, because they become visible more quickly.

Avoid abrasive pads and aggressive special cleaners without natural stone approval. Oil, red wine or coffee should be removed promptly from worktops, even though Blue Black is considerably less sensitive than dark marble.

Outdoors, grippy surfaces, frost-proof installation and clean drainage are decisive. Blue Black then performs very reliably.
