Ebru Arabesque Pirgon is a Greek white marble from Pirgon with lively arabesque markings. At ROSSITTIS we supply it for interiors whenever a pale marble with decorative movement rather than quiet calm is sought.
Ebru Arabesque Pirgon lives from its markings. The white ground is enlivened by sweeping, arabesque structures that give the stone more movement than many calmer white marbles. That is precisely what makes it attractive for walls, bathrooms, fireplaces, stairs and selected worktops whenever a decorative yet still pale marble surface is sought. Its origin in Pirgon in the Drama region connects it with a well-known Greek marble zone, but its patterning sets it clearly apart from calmer Pirgon grades.
Technically, as a marble the stone is clearly an interior material. The bulk density is about 2,820 kg/m³, water absorption around 0.4 per cent, compressive strength about 98.5 MPa and flexural strength only around 6.3 MPa. This comparatively low flexural value in particular matters for planning: large unsupported or very slender components should be handled with caution. At the same time the stone remains acid-sensitive, as is typical of calcareous marbles.
In terms of finish, Ebru Arabesque Pirgon works particularly effectively polished, because the markings then gain depth. Compared with Dover White or Volakas, Ebru Arabesque Pirgon is considerably more animated and more decorative. Against strongly brecciated marbles, however, the surface still remains controlled and pale. That is exactly what makes it interesting whenever white marble with personality is sought.
The honest assessment: this stone is not a calm background. Its effect lives from the markings. Anyone looking for a very quiet white surface should rather reach for more homogeneous marbles.

Care & fabrication
As a white marble, Ebru Arabesque Pirgon should be carefully sealed, above all on floors, vanity tops and worktops. The sealer reduces the absorption of stains, but it does not make the stone acid-proof.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mop covers are suitable. Coffee, wine, lemon juice, vinegar, oil and strongly coloured cosmetics should not be left to act for long.
Acidic cleaners, descalers and abrasive products are to be avoided. Pale polished marbles in particular show etch marks and dull patches quickly.
For surfaces that stay attractive over time the rule is: clean and care for them regularly, check the sealer and refresh it early on heavily used interior surfaces.
