About Nivatus Extra

Nivatus Extra belongs to the very light Greek marbles that work through purity and calm. The stone shows white to very light grey tones and relies on a clear, elegant effect in interiors rather than on pronounced veining. In bathrooms, on washbasin tops or as a light wall cladding in particular, this restraint can appear very high in quality.

The stone originates from Greece, from the area around Pirgon in the Drama region. In the trade Nivatus Extra is listed as a marble and is used in exactly that way: as a prestigious, light interior material with a high capacity for polishing. Compared with quartzite or granite, with Nivatus Extra visual purity clearly ranks above maximum everyday suitability.

Finishes

Nivatus Extra is available in a range of finishes. The finish affects appearance, feel and the care it needs.

Polished

Polishing is the most classic finish for marble and limestone — a glossy surface with the highest possible colour intensity and a pronounced depth to the veining. Depending on the mineral composition, the effect can be matte-gloss in places. Acid-sensitive — wine, lemon and vinegar leave etch marks after prolonged contact.

Care & fabrication

As a light marble, Nivatus Extra should always be impregnated thoroughly. For cleaning and care, pH-neutral marble cleaners, water and a soft cloth are necessary. Coffee, red wine, cosmetics, lemon juice and acidic cleaners must be removed as quickly as possible or avoided altogether. On very light surfaces in particular, colouring substances and metal abrasion should not be left lying for long.
