Green Pearl

The stone comes from Norway, from the Larvik area in Vestfold, and belongs to the famous family of Norwegian Labrador stones. Petrographically it sits within the range of larvikitic syenites, but in the natural stone trade the material has been listed as a granite for decades. For practice that is coherent: the stone is used like a high-quality decorative granite because of its load-bearing capacity and its suitability for outdoor use. As a dark external slab in particular, it is therefore much in demand.

Technically, Green Pearl is strong. The bulk density is around 2,700 kg/m³, the water absorption around 0.18 to 0.33 %, the compressive strength 185 MPa and the flexural strength 11.5 MPa. Added to this are frost resistance, good acid resistance in structural use and a polish that can last even outdoors. That makes the stone equally interesting for demanding external surfaces, stairs, façades and selected interior projects.

In a smooth surface finish, Green Pearl shows the strongest shimmer; at ROSSITTIS it is currently available as a flamed-and-brushed terrace slab. The surface finishes available in stock are listed in the »Finishes« block further down.

The honest assessment: this stone is not a calm, homogeneous dark tone. It lives from reflection, movement and material depth. Anyone looking for exactly this refined external effect gets one of the most characterful dark hard stones there is.
