About Nero Assoluto India
Nero Assoluto India belongs to the black natural stones that work not through veining or mica but through consistency. The appearance is evenly deep black, fine and restrained. It is precisely this calm that makes the material so attractive for modern kitchens, stairwells, window sills, façades and dark interior fit-outs. Unlike Star Galaxy or Black Cosmic, this is not about movement but about homogeneity. The stone comes from Chamrajnagar in the Indian state of Karnataka. Petrographically it is traded as a granite and used as one. As an alternative to Nero Assoluto Zimbabwe, the Indian version is usually somewhat more economical, yet still looks high-quality and hard-wearing. Polished
Polishing is the most classic finish in the hard stone segment — a mirror-smooth, high-gloss surface with the highest possible colour intensity and maximum depth effect in the mineral structure. As an acid-resistant silicate stone, polished granite is easy to care for and the first choice for kitchen worktops, wall claddings and prestigious exposed surfaces.
Satin-honed
The satin surface is created by brushing, which selectively removes softer minerals and gives the surface a slight depth. A matte appearance with subtle light reflection and a warm feel to the touch. Easy to maintain, insensitive to scratches and suited to everyday use — a popular alternative to a polish in modern kitchens and living spaces.
Anticato, untreated
The Eco Antik surface is flamed and then intensively brushed — the result is a more rustic, livelier look with a pronounced tactile quality. Recommended for kitchens as well as interior wall and floor claddings in which the material is meant to work as a characterful statement stone with a craftsman-like appeal.
Polished, reverse satin-honed
A slab usable on both sides: a polished face side with the highest possible colour intensity and mirror gloss, the reverse satin-finished (brushed) with a matt, tactilely warm appeal. A flexible construction for applications in which gloss and matt sides are wanted depending on the installation setting.
Flamed + brushed once
The surface is roughened by heat and brushed once to smooth sharp-edged mineral residues and remove loose material. The feel is somewhat gentler than purely flamed, it remains slip-resistant, and the colour is less intense than polished. The standard choice for outdoor areas, terraces and heavily used floor areas.
Care & fabrication
Nero Assoluto India should be impregnated after installation, even though at 0.1 % water absorption it is very dense. A good impregnation makes cleaning and care easier and reduces oil or dye marks on black surfaces.
For cleaning and care, pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, warm water and a clean microfibre cloth are enough. Black polished surfaces should be wiped dry afterwards so that no limescale marks or streaks remain.
Avoid abrasive pads, aggressive specialist cleaners and residues from strongly calcareous water. Coffee, oil, wine or lemon juice are technically less critical than on marble, but on dark surfaces should still be removed promptly for visual reasons.
Outdoors the rule is: little de-icing salt, clean drainage and regular cleaning of rough surfaces. The material's performance is high, but films of dirt and limescale rings quickly impair the appearance on black.
