About Seagrass
Seagrass is a stone with a strong reference to nature. The surface works with green, brown, olive, fossil inclusions and in part cloudy movements. This makes the material appear organic and considerably livelier than a calm beige limestone. In bathrooms, wall surfaces, stairs and selected floors, Seagrass can be very convincing for precisely that reason. Compared with green marbles the image is earthier; compared with slate or gneiss it is softer and more strongly marked by fossils.
The stone originates from Turkey, from the province of Karabük in the Safranbolu-Eflani area. Geologically it belongs to the range of fossil-bearing limestones, or calcareous marbles. In the trade Seagrass is frequently listed as a marble, because surface, market position and interior use are read in exactly that direction. For planners this is a typical case in which trade language and petrographic language diverge, while the care properties clearly remain those of a calcareous stone.
Technically, Seagrass lies in a dense but acid-sensitive range. The bulk density lies, depending on the data set, at roughly between 2,656 and 2,699 kg/m³, the compressive strength between 132.06 and 145.34 MPa and the flexural strength in a load-bearing range. The water absorption lies at around 0.35 %. That speaks for a stone that can be used well indoors and in selected external situations, as long as its calcareous binding is honestly taken into account. For kitchens the material only makes sense where there is a willingness to maintain it.

Anticato, untreated
The Eco Antik surface is flamed and intensively brushed — this creates a more rustic, livelier look with a pronounced feel. Recommended for slip-safe interior wall and floor claddings in which the material is meant to work as a characterful statement stone with a craftsmanlike, Mediterranean appearance.
River finish
The surface is roughened by water pressure — the colour tone comes through more strongly than with flamed plus brushed. A level, slip-resistant texture with pronounced colour depth. Recommended for outdoor areas, terraces and façade surfaces where a characterful, non-slip surface with clear material depth is required.
Care & fabrication
Seagrass should be carefully impregnated on floors, stairs and working surfaces, because the stone is calcareous and thus acid-sensitive. The impregnation helps to make it harder for water, oil and coloured media to penetrate the surface.
For cleaning and care, only pH-neutral natural stone cleaners, water and soft cloths or mops are suitable. On kitchen and bathroom surfaces, limescale, soap, coffee, wine and lemon juice should not be allowed to dry on.
Avoid vinegar-based cleaners, descalers, chlorine-based household agents and abrasive pads. Seagrass can only be cleaned and cared for well over the long term if the surface is treated gently.
For interior and exterior applications, clean and care for it regularly and refresh the impregnation at sensible intervals. That keeps the green-brown surface calmer and more even.
